Our program is designed to meet the needs of each child. We provide children the opportunity to explore, discover and grow through hands-on learning experiences.
We believe that an integral part of meeting the developmental needs of your child is to maintain a low child-to-teacher ratio, small group sizes, and continuity of care. We want our center to feel like a home away from home.
For over 30 years, Second Home has been a trusted, licensed childcare center dedicated to nurturing and educating children in Sussex County. Nestled on 13 acres of serene countryside, our beautiful facility provides an ideal setting where children can learn, grow, and thrive.
Our school features four expansive play yards, offering ample space for outdoor activities, nature walks, and sunshine-filled adventures. Inside, our generously sized classrooms are thoughtfully designed for teaching, playing, exploring, resting, and dining — creating a well-rounded environment tailored to every child’s needs.
We take pride in maintaining a teacher-to-child ratio that surpasses state standards, ensuring personalized attention and meaningful interactions. Our highly experienced teachers are degreed & continuing education, certified in First Aid & CPR, and deeply rooted in the community. Many have been a part of the Second Home family for years, reflecting our commitment to continuity and care.
Guided by the Creative Curriculum, we provide a stimulating and supportive learning experience for all age groups. At Second Home, your child will discover, create, and flourish in a warm, nurturing environment — because there’s truly no place like home.
Our goal is to help your children grow into individuals whose curiosity and creativity lead to a love of learning. Whose positive self-esteem, sense of autonomy, and independence enable them to seek solutions to difficult problems. We hope, because they feel loved, confident and respected, that they are able to go forward in the world as compassionate, caring and trusting men and women. We will never forget that learning is fun and that the innocence, joy and freedom of children must be protected by their caretakers.
